Researcher, Educator, and Programme Strategist

Janine Lange is a researcher, educator, and programme strategist with two decades of experience working across development, higher education, and grassroots organising in South Africa and beyond. Her work sits at the intersection of community-based knowledge production, political education and institutional transformation.

She brings deep expertise in programme design and facilitation, curriculum development, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MERL), with a strong grounding in feminist and decolonial approaches. Janine has designed and delivered courses in community development, sociology, anthropology, and gender studies, and has worked extensively with activists and civil society organisations to strengthen critical analysis and collective organising capacity.

Through her consultancy work, Janine has supported non-profits, social movements, and academic institutions in developing impactful programmes, strengthening evaluation systems, and building meaningful connections between research, teaching, and lived realities. Her approach is rooted in participatory methodologies and a commitment to social justice, with a focus on producing work that is both rigorous and responsive to the needs of communities on the ground.

Multidisciplinary Storyteller, Writer, Researcher, and Organizer

Soreti Bulbula Kadir is a multidisciplinary storyteller, writer, researcher, and organizer whose work sits at the intersection of art, justice, and political imagination. Guided by a commitment to truth-telling, empathy, and collective liberation, she uses storytelling as both a creative practice and a tool for social transformation.

A dynamic public speaker and facilitator, Soreti has engaged tens of thousands of people across schools, conferences, festivals, and international platforms. Her work spans poetry, film, journalism, and community education—translating complex social and political realities into accessible, human-centered narratives that challenge bias and inspire action.

Soreti's professional journey bridges grassroots organizing, academic research, and global advocacy. She has worked across Australia, Ethiopia, and Kenya with organizations such as World Vision, Code for Australia, and Tishisimani, contributing to the building of Pan-African networks, platforms, and collective action. As a Research Assistant supporting PhD-level academic research in East Africa, she has contributed to rigorous, context-driven inquiry grounded in lived realities and community knowledge.

Her experience includes leading large-scale youth engagement campaigns, contributing to policy and program design, facilitating leadership development, and mobilizing communities around issues of justice, displacement, and representation. As a co-founder of In Our Own Words, she led the creation of a pioneering platform amplifying African diaspora voices, including producing a documentary and convening an international convention on race, aid, and empowerment.

An accomplished artist, Soreti is the author of multiple poetry collections and has performed widely across Australia and internationally. Her creative work has been featured in major festivals and publications, and she has led collaborative performances, workshops, and multimedia projects that center community voice and cultural expression. In 2020, she wrote, directed, and performed in an award-winning experimental short film recognized at the Melbourne film festival.
